Summary, etc Jesse Nusbaum worked for the SAR/MNM from 1909, supervising the restoration and remodeling of the Palace of the Governors, overseeing the construction of the Painted Desert exhibit at the World's Columbian exposition and the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe (for which he designed the furniture) in addition to archaeological survey and excavation in Mesoamerica and the Southwest. He went on to be superintendent of Mesa Verde National Park and director of the Laboratory of Anthropology, Inc.
Summary, etc Nusbaum met Elizabeth White in 1913, and in 1923 she asked him to design the furniture for the house that William Penhallow Henderson designed for them.
Summary, etc The collection includes correspondence between Nusbaum and the White sisters and with Sam Hudelson. There is also an article by Lonn Taylor discussing Nusbaum and his furniture designs.
