He went on to be superintendent of Mesa Verde National Park and director of the Laboratory of Anthropology, Inc.; Nusbaum met Elizabeth White in 1913, and in 1923 she asked him to design the furniture for the house that William Penhallow Henderson designed for them; The collection includes correspondence between Nusbaum and the White sisters and with Sam Hudelson.
